Thanks Not Fear

As christians we preach about thanking God in all situations, but this year many of us have failed to do that. This year I've heard very little praise or thanks for what we have. Instead I've heard lots of complaining about 2020 and wanting it to be over. Even as I...

The Line to Christmas: Ruth Chapter 1

The story of Ruth is one of the most famous accounts of redemption in the Old Testament and with good reason. In it we see the foreshadowing of Christ and His love for us. Without pain and tragedy it is difficult to have redemption and Ruth's story is no exception....

The Line to Christmas: Rahab

Christ has some amazing men and women in His lineage. He also has some amazing men and women with scandalous pasts in his lineage and Rahab is one of them. If you are not familiar with her story it can be found in Joshua 2 and Joshua 6. From our very first...

The Line to Christmas: Tamar

We understand that Christ was perfect, but His earthly ancestry was not. Look through his genealogy and you'll see just how not perfect they were! Leading up to Christmas we'll be taking a look at some of the women in Jesus' earthy lineage. Today we'll start with a...

God’s Timetable Not Mine

A few weeks ago my brother's family left my house at the same time as I did with both vehicles headed to the same destination. He pulled out before me so I was right behind him most of the way. We were about halfway there and now with a bit of distance between us I...

Trusting God: Week 4 – Guidance

While I was attending an event several years ago, the speaker asked for a volunteer. A young girl came to the front, was blindfolded, and then instructed to get to the other side of the room. There were several voices in the room telling her which way to go. Some...

Trusting God: Week 3 – Provision

You know what is difficult to overcome? The mighty wants! We want things so deeply that we begin to think they are a need. Have you ever been there? You had to have insert thing here. Perhaps it was a car, a house, job, whatever the case may be, the desire to have it...

Trusting God: Week 2 – Protection

While David didn't always do things correctly, he is absolutely one of my favorite people in the Bible. I'm pretty sure he was rock star material. I mean, come on, he even played instruments! Most of us are pretty familiar with the account of David and Goliath, right?...

A Different Kind of Easter

Often times in elementary school we would be told to bring an item from home. Mine was typically homemade because going out to buy things wasn't happening. I remember one year we were told to bring an Easter basket. My mother is one of those crazy creative people that...

Trusting God: Week 1

Have you ever been in a team building event and played the trust game? What about just at home with your family? Someone will fall backwards into the arms of the remaining members. I've always laughed when they asked me to do such a thing. I don't care how many people...

Did you know that there are over 7 billion people in the world right now? 7 billion – that’s a bunch of zeros. Many of those people have blogs and websites and you took time to stop by Single Perspective. Before I say anything else I want to say thank you for taking time out of your day to come by!

Here you’ll find life from my perspective; a mixture of all things that make me who I am. You may be wondering who that is exactly. I’m a single girl from the Midwest. I grew up around my grandparents farm and I’m pretty sure there is nothing better than a sunset over a wheat field in Kansas. I’m a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend, and many other titles. The one I wear most proudly is Christian.

My hope is that as you look through my blog you see more of Christ than you do me. My prayer is that you will be encouraged and motivated to become stronger in Christ.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139-14a
